Crafting Away and Checking Things Off the List!

Last weekend while Brian was enjoying his time in Lake Tahoe with the boys, I was at home crafting up a storm with all things wedding. It was a huge relief to get so much done and checked off of the infamous "Poster of To-Do's". Obviously, It didn't provide that much relief since the wedding "nightmares" still persist. Argh.

Anyhow - back to the crafts!

I can check off our custom aisle runner! I took the standard White cotton fabric (14 yards to be exact!) and finished the edges with 2" black satin ribbon then I put black pleated ribbon with white polka dots on top of the black satin. This is the border on both ends. Somewhere in between where we stand at the altar and where the guests enter from, there will be a big beautiful Aubergine thread monogram (with scrolls and such) sewn on. Although I am crafty, I definitely don't have the equipment to embroider a 2x2 monogram on it myself - but thanks to Lauri at Embroider Me - it will be taken care of!!! Check!!

For each guest/couple that is reserving a sleeping room at the Claremont for our wedding night, they will receive a personalized out of town bag customized specifically for them. So far we have 7 bags created, packed, and tagged waiting for their owner to enjoy! Check!!

I am hosting a bridesmaids luncheon for all of my great girls and put together little goodie bags that I made. They are packed with all kinds of fun and useful items for the day, too! Their flip-flops, which I glued on each rhinestone one-by-one, are my absolute favorite! The little black-and-white bows that adorn the top are to-die-for!!! Girls bags - CHECK!!

Lots of other projects were accomplished, also; Favor boxes, ribbons, and stickers are done and await their sweet accompaniment before they can be 100% completed. Rehearsal dinner invites are addressed and ready to be sent out. Fabric sashes (all 30 of them) have been cut, ironed, and individually rolled up and taped for easy storage and application. Father of the bride gift - purchased! Packs of tissues and handkerchiefs for the guests - purchased. Wooden name letters for the 'sign in table' - spray painted, assembled, and ready to go!

Everything is coming along quite nicely!

1 month, 1 week, and 6 days to go!

There have been few hard decisions...

Myspace Graphics

The wedding planning has been relatively easy and although lots of decisions have been made, very few were difficult decisions. The hardest decision to-date has been which wedding band I wanted and which song should we enter to. I know, such difficulties!

With good news to report, the custom wedding has been ordered. It embodies who I am and what my style is to a "T". It is a ring that I can wear for countless years to come and know that it wasn't a 'trendy' purchase. Unique, yes, trendy, no.

So, now onto the introduction song selection. Personally, I LOVE music. I love everything from Marvin Gaye to Kid Rock to Adele and everything in between. I am a strong believer that the right song can completely define the situation. I spent a lot of time picking out specific songs for the respective application and envisioning the situation in my head with the tunes playing in the background. If I felt it didn't have the impact I was looking for, it got vetoed and I was onto the next song. I chose the perfect songs for the bridal party to walk down the aisle to, for myself and my dad to walk down to, and for us to be pronounced Husband and Wife to. The bridal parties introduction song is chosen - and so fun - our first dance song is chosen and here we are, without a song for OUR introduction... We need something that is US. That resembles who WE are. And most importantly, we need a song that will totally get people out of their seats, excited, and ready for a FABULOUS party.

I am open to suggestion!!!!! Do we go with Michael Buble and one of his fabulous songs, Mariah Carey (Brian's love), a hip-hop piece from one of today's artists? Help!!!

Will the planning ever end?

So, I am embarking on yet another event to plan. As if I didn't have enough to deal with having our wedding just 6.5 weeks away and weddings for my company, Elegant Soiree - I have decided to plan a surprise birthday party for Brian. And, I have decided to do all of this in less than 3 weeks....

Obviously he will read this and know there is a party, however, he doesn't know when, where, or what! I am so excited for this.

It will be fun, interactive, not too mention incredibly creative. The theme is "Popcorn" and that is about all I can say at this point. I am incredibly excited for the dessert I am creating... popcorn cupcakes! You heard me, popcorn cupcakes. Obviously they are not really popcorn (nor will they be popcorn flavored... although kinda cute now that I think about it...) But, they will look like little popcorn clusters. How adorable are they!? I'll keep you all posted on how they turn out with pictures to follow in a couple of weeks.

It's pretty obvious that I am in the right business planning events... from baby showers to birthdays to weddings I try to be as creative and imaginative as possible and make everything very personalized. And for my hubby-to-be, he deserves the very best!!!!

And it Begins...

Welcome!!!

I have had the best time following countless blogs belonging to friends, companies, websites, and more, and I felt what better time than any to start one for Brian and I. Not too mention, everyone can take a sigh of relief, this will cut-down on facebook pictures and posts!!!

We look forward to gaining friendly followers so you can track the progress of our wedding, house-hunting, and the journey in which we are embarking - Marriage!

All our love!
